"Growers vote for continuation of the Passionfruit Levy Order"
The commercial growers of passionfruit in New Zealand voted in favour for a new levy order to fund the activities of the N.Z. Passionfruit Growers Association Incorporated. for the next six years
The result of the ballot was
* the YES votes were more than half of all valid votes cast.
* the number of vines of those commercial growers who voted YES
were more than half of the total of vines in production of all voters returning their voting paper to the Returning Officer before close of voting
Under the Commodity Levies Act 1990 a full levy order application has been made to the Minister of Agriculture & Fisheries and granted by Cabinet.
